SimIS supports the Wesley Community Service Center Backpack Drive!
SimIS is excited to be able to support the Wesley Community Service Center again this year! Even though learning looks a lot different this school year, that doesn’t mean the kids in our community do not need supplies & backpacks. The Wesley Community Service Center provides multiple programs and support for urgent and unmet individual, family and community needs in the South-side of Portsmouth Virginia. Established in 1937, the center began as Methodist Women in Portsmouth joined to form a city mission board that would become involved in community needs and social issues. The Center is now in its 83rd year of service and ministry. We were able to donate over 15 backpacks plus boxes of supplies!
