The Deputy Commandant for Combat Development and Integration (DC, CD&I) leads the preparation of the Marine Corps by identifying and facilitating the deployment of combat capabilities. The Capabilities Development Directorate (CDD) develops and integrates warfighting capabilities solutions that provide for an effective Marine Air Ground Task Force capability, current and future, that anticipates strategic challenges and opportunities for the nation's defense. Meanwhile, the Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory/Futures Directorate (MCWL/FD) generates and assesses threat-informed operational concepts and capabilities, offering data-driven recommendations to guide future force design and development efforts.
