On Thursday June 21^st, SimIS traveled to Hampton Virginia for a day filled with impactful training on hiring and acquiring skilled veterans. The various company representatives present were given information on the levels of skill in the military and how to review a Veterans resume to aid in the proper selection of candidates. Representatives were also taught the benefits of hiring veterans into their companies as well as proper etiquette while interviewing veterans. It also touched upon stereotypes that Veterans face from civilians. The benefits of hiring military spouses was also discussed. Following the formal training process of the event, the floor opened for a panel discussion with government defense companies and military veterans. They answered questions and offered guidance and feedback on their experiences in working with veterans and provided information on networking opportunities. SimIS is on the way to becoming V3 Certified!
